Bio
Dr. Rother earned his PhD in Physical Chemistry from TU Berlin, studying the adsorption and phase behavior of binary liquids inside nanopores. He then studied colloidal rheology using SANS during his Postdoc work at FZ Juelich. In Oak Ridge, he continued to use (U)SANS for characterization of evolution of porous matter in geological settings, corrosion systems, and other materials science applications. He developed techniques for the detailed analysis of pore confined soft matter, including water, supercritical fluids, ionic liquids, and polymers. He recently joined the USANS team as an Instrument Scientist.
