Kayla holds the role of Nuclear Materials Accountability Engineer at 91°µÍøâ€™s Radiochemical Engineering Development Center in the Radioisotope Science and Technology Division (RSTD). In her current role, she serves as a Material Balance Area (MBA) Representative and supports two of the largest MBAs at ORNL, implementing DOE Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (NMC&A) requirements for both the Pu-238 and Cf-252 Production Programs. She also serves as RSTD’s quality assurance coordinator. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, she has spent almost eight years at ORNL with a focus in radioisotope production, process engineering, NMC&A, radiological protection, quality assurance, and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP). She has participated in several assessments throughout ORNL and has training on conducting assessments, causal analysis, and NQA-1 lead auditor training. Outside of work, Kayla enjoys playing piano and spending time with her husband and two sons.
