
Bio
Kathy Bailey is assistant manager of the US ITER Project Support Office. In this role, she assists in managing the oversight of seven teams in the areas of logistics and transportation, project controls, systems engineering and configuration management, computing integration, business office, human resources, and procurement. She directly supports the US ITER project manager to deliver the project scope within cost and schedule objectives.
Prior to joining US ITER, Kathy was a program manager at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois. She first joined Argonne in 2009 and held positions of increasing responsibility.
Kathy began her career in industry, first as a metallurgist for Reynolds Metals Company, then as business manager for Motorola, and then as senior project manager for Caterpillar Inc.
Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Illinois and a master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago’s’ Booth School of Business. She is certified as a project management professional with the Project Management Institute.
