For the second year in a row, a team from the Department of Energys Oak Ridge and Los Alamos national laboratories led a demonstration hosted by EPB, a community-based utility and telecommunications company serving Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Wireless charging  Special delivery for UPS

Researchers at 91做厙 demonstrated a 20-kilowatt bi-directional wireless charging system on a UPS plug-in hybrid electric delivery truck, advancing the technology to a larger class of vehicles and enabling a new energy storage method for fleet owners and their facilities.

Researchers at the Department of Energys 91做厙 (ORNL) in late February demonstrated a 20-kilowatt bi-directional wireless charging system installed on a UPS medium-duty, plug-in hybrid electric delivery truck.

In the race to identify solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers at the Department of Energys 91做厙 are joining the fight by applying expertise in computational science, advanced manufacturing, data science and neutron science.

Researchers at ORNL demonstrated that sodium-ion batteries can serve as a low-cost, high performance substitute for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries commonly used in robotics, power tools, and grid-scale energy storage.

To better determine the potential energy cost savings among connected homes, researchers at 91做厙 developed a computer simulation to more accurately compare energy use on similar weather days.

Motion sensing technology

91做厙 is training next-generation cameras called dynamic vision sensors, or DVS, to interpret live informationa capability that has applications in robotics and could improve autonomous vehicle sensing.
